detail-oriented professional with a passion for fiscal management
in an academic setting? We're seeking a Fiscal Accounts Coordinator
to join our team at the School of Theatre, Television, and Film. In
this pivotal role, you will serve as the internal and external
resource for fiscal policy and procedural matters, ensuring the
smooth operation of our academic and production programs.Key
Responsibilities:
- Fiscal Support and Expertise: Provide comprehensive fiscal
support and accounting system expertise for diverse financial
resources, including General Fund, Course Fees, Box Office Revenue,
and various grant and funding accounts.
- Budget Management: Oversee the school's budget system, ensuring
sound fiscal control and accurate, up-to-date operational budget
tracking.
- Collaboration with Faculty: Work closely with faculty to assist
in administering President's Leadership Funds and University Grant
Program Awards, ensuring proper financial practices are
followed.
- Data Management: Maintain the school's master financial files,
ensuring reliable and accessible data for long-range forecasting
and strategic planning.
- Communication and Decision Making: Facilitate effective
communication with the School Director, unit budget supervisors,
faculty, and staff, ensuring all stakeholders are well-informed to

full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position
anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2025 with the possibility
of reappointment. Position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and
is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard work hours are
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on
operational needs. The individual hired into this role will work on
campus at SDSU in San Diego.Department SummaryThe School of
Theatre, Television, and Film (TTF) within the College of
Professional Studies and Fine Arts offers a blend of academic
coursework and production programs, providing students with
pre-professional training and experience. It operates like a small
business, producing several public presentations annually. TTF
offers undergraduate and graduate degrees, including an MFA, and
maintains two theaters: the 500-seat Don Powell Theatre and the
175-seat Experimental Theatre. The school produces 5-6 plays yearly
and hosts four film festivals through its Television, Film, and New
Media program.Education and ExperienceEntry to this classification
requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard
office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to
understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures.
Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge
of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to
clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may
require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic
arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support
technology systems and software packages is also a
prerequisite.These qualifications would normally be obtained
through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or
their equivalents combined with several years of related office
work experience.Key Qualifications
- Experience with fiscal management and budget preparation,
analysis and projections.
- Experience developing, updating, and managing large budget
spreadsheets, charts, and graphs.
- Purchasing experience.
- Background in Financial operations of performing arts/ Film
production organizations highly desirable.Compensation and
BenefitsStarting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed
$4,482 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education,
experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the
position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal
