Job Description:
A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Associate to review
clinical documentation and assign appropriate codes for billing
purposes.
Key Responsibilities
Assign accurate codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers) for
diagnoses, treatments, and procedures while meeting daily quotas
with 95% accuracy
Review and clarify physician-assigned diagnosis codes and query
physicians for clarification when necessary
Adhere to Standards of Ethical Coding by AHIMA and AAPC, and
communicate with other departments to provide coding guidance
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Active CCS, CIC, RHIT, or RHIA certification with work experience
in facility inpatient coding
Strong understanding of medical terminology and coding guidelines
including ICD-10 PCS and CM, HCPCS, and CPT-4 coding
