We'd love to hear from you!Position Summary:The Nutrition Assistant I is responsible for screening women, infants and children to determine eligibility for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program. The Nutrition Assistant I also serves as receptionist for the clinic, prints and issues food instruments and implements Truecare and WIC policies and procedures.Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• 
  
• 1 year working with patients in a clinical office setting is required
• 
  
• Ability to work with mothers to be and newborns, providing referrals, assisting through WIC processes and supporting breastfeeding and nutrition.
• Familiarity with WIC Program and maternal child health

  • Associate degree in nutrition, food science, dietetics, or related field.
  • Knowledge of the WIC Program and maternal child health.
  • Knowledge of nutrients/foods as well as familiarity of life cycle nutritional needs (pregnancy, breastfeeding, infancy, and children).
