Job Description:
Buyer/Planner
Riverside, CA
Manufacturing Co has an immediate opening for a Buyer/Planner. This
position will be responsible for purchasing various parts and
materials, placing and expediting orders, inventory control,
reconciling and maintaining inventory accuracy, coordinating vendor
RGA/NCR's and working closely with QC and Freight Brokers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
? Perform and manage the procurement of both direct and indirect
material for the support of a manufacturing plant via a MPS/MRP
system.
? Procure and/or schedule an inbound supply chain to align with a
manufacturing SOP while attaining plant inventory
objectives/targets. Adheres to corporate and SOX policies and
guidelines in addition to sustaining plant budgets for direct and
indirect material.
? Ensure that purchasing documents (i.e. purchase orders), are
processed completely and accurately and submitted on-time to
suppliers; responsible for maintaining correct costs and data entry
and follows the complete procurement process from P/O submission to
P/O receipt.
? Administer, in conjunction with materials and QA management,
internal / external supplier quality accountability via a
non-conformance reporting system.
? Monitor and report on supplier on-time delivery; communicating
and working through any issues that could impact the manufacturing
process and elevating concerns as necessary.
? Work closely with corporate Commodity management as well as with
a 3rd party logistics carrier. Persistently looks for and
communicates opportunities for cost reduction / avoidance.
? Assist the materials manager in maintaining accurate physical vs.
perpetual inventory records, safety stocks, supplier forecasts,
etc.
? Work with Schedulers to ensure material arrives per production
schedule and advise schedulers of any material issues.
Requirements include:
? BS/BA degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
preferred.
? Some travel required.
? Understanding of Supply Chain configuration and principles.
? Knowledge of MPS/MRP systems. Experience with AS/400 a plus.
? Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
? Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
? APICS, CPIM (certified Planning & Inventory Mgmt).
